Please join us for the 17th Annual Jose Marti Scholarship Breakfast hosted at Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay Campus.
This year’s event will feature students from our local K-12 schools (David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center, Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High School, and MAST Academy at BBC), as well as FIU students who have received the Jose Marti Scholarship.
We are also delighted to present celebrity chef, Chef Pepin, as this year’s host, and noted actor and author, Salvador Levy as our speaker for this year’s breakfast.
Chef Pepin is an active participant of the life of Cubans and other Latin American groups in the US and abroad. Teaching several generations on how to cook all kinds of foods in an easy and interesting way. He has traveled extensively all over the world making people laugh and allowing them to be happier with his presence.
Salvador Levy is a very special human being representing the highest values that a person can have at all times of his life. While in a difficult situation, he showed humanity and the highest regards for his fellow human beings. While a political prisoner in Cuba he commemorated and celebrated all related to Jose Marti legacy. A person who truly cares about others, he has given of himself to represent the highest in mankind. He has risked his life many times in the pursuit of freedom and a better world for all.
Today, in South Florida, he is a student and a human being who cares and continues to make each day an experience in giving and sharing with others. We are very proud of Salvador Levy for what he has done and accomplished in his life and believe that his contribution to this year’s event will add to knowledge and appreciation for Jose Marti.
We hope you will join us for this celebration of Jose Marti Scholarship recipients and the life and work of Jose Marti!
